You Can't Buy Happieness

If you don't like how things are, change it! You're not a tree. ~Jim Rohn

I believe that you can't buy happiness.  Happiness cannot be bought.  But you can make other people happy along with yourself.  It doesn't have to be a certain season like christmas or easter but all the time.  Many rich people think that you can buy happiness which is wrong.

Many things can be bought with money but happiness is not one of the that you can buy with money.  The only way the happiness can be is by it being created.  It can only be created by making other people happy.  Like donating money to charity or other places in your community.

Victorian Child Labor

It is surprising that the chimney sweep owners kidnap children to work.  It is pointless if the children required such low pay.  It is good that they have since made laws restricting children under the age of 14 from working.  My question is what were the jobs of a child coal miner.

Amazing Kids

These are kids that have done amazing things.  The first one is Blare Gooch.  The name of his organization is Hugs for Haiti.  The reason that he wanted to help is because he saw newscast of a little boy after the the earthquake in haiti.  So he got his school to help donate teddy bears to the children of haiti.  The effect was great.  He and his school donated over 25,000 bears.  That is very amazing that they can do that.

The next amazing kid is Tristan and Jackson Kelly.  The name of their organization is Backpacks for new beginnings.  They fill new backpacks with school supplies and give them to the kids that are less fortunate.  They wanted to help because they saw so many kids that didn't have backpacks and school supplies.  They donated over 40 backpacks stuffed with new school supplies.  Their goal this year is 300.  The effect is that it has given backpacks and school supplies to kids that without this organization would not have them.

The final amazing kid's name is Winter Vinecki. The name of her organization is Team winter. The goal of her charity is to run is marathons and triathlons to raise money for cancer research which her father died of. So far she has raised $250,000 for prostate cancer research. She is now 12 and is still doing amazing things that are helping people with cancer get closer to a cure for this terrible illness.

Veteran's Day

Veteran's day is very important day to me.  Im glad that we have people the are willing to sacrifice things for us.  We celebrate this because we are praising the veterans that are currently serving or already did.  It is a good holiday.

My life has been impacted by these soldiers.  We would not have all the freedoms we do if it wasn't for them.  It is important to praise the veterans.

I think that the most important invention was the computer.  Now people can send e-mail and search the web and more.  It is was a major advance for people trying to find information on stuff and more.  It was so revolutionary that people could send e-mails.

I think that they are in a metal workshop.  I think that because there are tools and a there is a big fire in the middle of it.  It reminds me of a metal workshop because of the fire in the middle of the picture.  Im not sure though.

One year we had a fundraiser to help the victims of hurricane sandy.  We brought in lots of money to sent to the victims.  I don't remember the final total count of money but it was a good amount of money.

Student Blogging Challenge #3

Challenge 5

According to the article in section 9 You can't be separated from your parents if it is against your will or in our best interest (Article 9).  I think that this is a good right because it is the child's choice in some cases.  Many of these happen everyday.  And it is not fair for kids to be taken away from their homes.  But with this right this cannot happen unless it is in the child's best interest.

Wonder of the day

I learned that venus is the hottest planet.  Most people think that mercury would be the hottest planet because it recives the most sunlight per square foot of any planet.  I thought that it would be the hottest planet.

Peer pressure from my group doesn't force me to be someone I don't want to be.  Like in The Outsiders the greasers never force any group member into anything that they didn't want to do.  They all smoke so there can't be any peer pressure there because in the book they say that it calms them.  But in the book I think that there is a level of peer pressure in the soc group.  I think that because they forced Cherry to walk with them.

Online Power

I can use my online power for good by spreading a message of help.  If there is a natural disaster you could write tweets talking about things that these people need.  Or you could spread a message of good stories of encouragement or good deeds.  Some of these messages are life changing.  In conclusion, I can use my online power of good by spreading good messages.

What Does 21st Century Literacy Mean To Me?

Do you know how lucky kids in today's time are.  Well we are very lucky.  If we want to know some thing we just get on the wonderful invention called the internet.  And if we want to get a book we can get E books.  It is so funny when you hear a older adult say "Back in my day we didn't have all of these high tech gadgets and gismos." But now that I think about it we are very lucky.  And now that we have these they help us learn things in language arts class and more.
